The core of Dr. Enright’s counseling approach utilizes a cognitive perspective and techniques with an emphasis on attachment theory. He is passionate about helping people to become emotionally and spiritually healthy as individuals as well as in their relationships.
During the last several years, Dr. Enright has supervised associate- and intern-level counselors working in a wide variety of settings, ranging from hospital wards to private practice. He focuses on helping supervisees discover their own unique identities as counselors and develop their own theory of therapy that fits with their personality, values, training, and experience. In supervision, Dr. Enright believes that creating an atmosphere of safety is crucial for facilitating growth. It is important for supervisees to feel comfortable to share cases, discuss transference issues, and disclose potential mistakes. Dr. Enright strives to provide a balance of positive and constructive feedback to help supervisees fine-tune their counseling skills and become the best counselors they can be. He will work with supervisees to meet the requirements of their respective licensure board or graduate program.
